Jeannette Specialty Glass / JSG Oceana

Jeannette Specialty Glass (JSG) was founded in the heart of America’s premier glass region in 1904. Jeannette Specialty Glass / JSG Oceana has earned a reputation for manufacturing the highest quality commercial and industrial “Hard Roc” glass products.

When Jeannette Specialty Glass was purchased in 1976, the emphasis was on the design and manufacture of outdoor lighting and decorative lamp shades using both blown glass and pressed glass. The introduction of borosilicate glass into the manufacturing of outdoor lighting began JSG's quest for the best formula for making high expansion “Hard Roc” glass.

Borosilicate glass is an “engineered” glass developed specifically for use in environments where thermal, mechanical, and chemical conditions are too much for standard, (soda lime) glass. Compared to most glass, borosilicate has a low coefficient of Expansion, 3 times less than soda lime glass. This makes it useful for cooking, heating, and other thermal environments, without the risk of breakage due to thermal shock. In time, the formulation of borosilicate glass known as “Hard Roc” glass was perfected.

In 2001, the influx of glass from foreign markets required JSG to think about other markets for “Hard Roc” glass. Waves and beautiful colors seen along the beach inspired a line of glass sinks called JSG Oceana. Jeannette Specialty Glass created shimmering colors to complement the ocean design and utilized the formulation of “Hard Roc” glass to develop the distinct JSG Oceana line of lavatory sinks, inclusive of vessels, drop-ins, and undermount models.

JSG Oceana has worked tirelessly to develop new applications for “Hard Roc” glass, creating products that are not only of a superior quality but bring both beauty and functionality to a whole new level. Today, JSG Oceana is the glass source of choice for both home and commercial use and has become an acknowledged leader in the glass industry.  

In recent years, JSG Oceana  has introduced many new glass gems for interior and exterior use; many models of bathroom sinks, bar sinks, tile, mirrors, lights, decorative bowls, floor medallions, stepping stones, table tops, and has the distinction of having the only glass kitchen sink on the market. We are proud to announce that JSG Oceana glass products are now available in over 2000 kitchen and bath showrooms and marble and tile showrooms all over the world.
