Care and Cleaning of JSG Oceana “Hard Roc” Glass Sinks

JSG Oceana Glass sinks require no more special treatment than a standard porcelain sink and are tough enough to withstand the wear and tear of everyday life while remaining as beautiful as the day they were purchased.

The care and cleaning of JSG Oceana “Hard Roc” glass is effortless due to the nonporous and very hygienic surface of glass. Clean the surface of the glass with mild soap and warm water. Wipe the entire surface completely dry with a clean, soft cloth.

If the surface of the glass becomes excessively dirty, you can use a general purpose cleaner such as Fantastik®, Lysol® Foaming Disinfectant, Dow Bathroom Cleaner Liquid, Scrub Free®, Soap Scum Remover, and Mr. Clean®.

JSG Oceana “Hard Roc” glass is stain resistant and highly resistant to non-fluorinated chemicals, thus allowing it to keep its lustrous color and clear quality. The same cannot be said for traditional soda-lime glass, which has only fair resistance to chemical corrosives and over time becomes cloudy from household cleaners, as well as rust marked from hard water.

JSG Oceana “Hard Roc” glass is scratch resistant, making it the glass of choice for products such as glass vessel sinks, wet bar sinks, kitchen sinks, and more.

JSG Oceana Glass comes in a variety of colored glass tiles, including bathroom tile, kitchen tile, and tile flooring. JSG Oceana tiles require no more special treatment than standard glass tiles, but are tough enough to withstand the wear and tear of everyday life while remaining as beautiful as the day they were installed.

Our tiles, like our sinks and other home glass decor products, are made from JSG Oceana’s special “Hard Roc” glass formula, which provides for durable and stunning glass creations.

When you look at the lustrous, exciting beauty of JSG Oceana’s glass dinnerware, it’s hard to believe each piece is made out of something called “Hard Roc” glass.  But that is exactly why we can assure you that our glass dinnerware is microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.  These dinnerware serving pieces are durable, scratch, and stain resistant, and perfectly practical for everyday use.  And yet their beauty is heirloom quality.
 
JSG Oceana Glass Dinnerware and Serving Pieces JSG Oceana Glass products can be used for storing, cooking, and serving and are similar to all other glass baking products on the market which suggest the following care: You can put your JSG Oceana Glass product in the dishwasher or wash it in hot soapy water with a non-abrasive pad. If the food is burnt or tends to stick, soak your glass item in hot water for half an hour before cleaning. Avoid dropping the product, and be careful not to put hot bowls or plates on cold or wet surfaces, or put cold liquids in hot bowls or on hot plates as the dramatic temperature change could cause the bowl to break.
 
Do not immerse hot glass item in cold water. The glass must have food or water in it when heating. The golden rule for glass is that it has to be heated and cooled evenly. JSG Oceana glass products are microwaveable safe and oven safe to 450°F. Glass bakeware dishes behave differently from metal bakeware. Glass bakeware heats up and cools down more slowly and helps prevent thick crusts from forming on casseroles and other foods. Generally, to adapt a recipe from the metal dish to a glass dish, you should lower the baking temperature by 25 degrees and allow a bit of extra time in the oven. Do not use on the rangetop.

Some pieces of our giftware require a little extra care. 

For Metal Accessories. Before cleaning remove all metal pieces from glass products. Follow the care and cleaning instructions for JSG Oceana Dinnerware and Serving Pieces for the glass products. The metal accessories are silver-plated. Because of their metallic nature, they may not be put in the microwave, dishwasher, or oven.  Do not wash silver plate in the dishwasher. Wash by hand in sudsy water, rinse in clear hot water and dry thoroughly. To prevent water spotting, dry items with a lint-free towel or cotton cloth. Avoid dropping the product, and be careful not to put hot bowls or plates on cold or wet surfaces, or put cold liquids in hot bowls or on hot plates as the dramatic temperature change could cause the bowl to break.
 
The Alina Art Glass Collection offers individually hand formed works of art. Clean the surface of your Alina Art glass piece with a dry or damp cloth. If the surface of Alina Art glass piece becomes excessively dirty, you can use a mild soap and warm water. Avoid dropping the product, and be careful not to put hot bowls or plates on cold or wet surfaces, or put cold liquids in hot bowls or on hot plates as the dramatic temperature change could cause the bowl to break.
 
Signature JSG Oceana Designs include all of our Copper, Platinum and 24 K Gold pieces. Because of their metallic nature, they are may not be put in the microwave, dishwasher, or oven. Failure to follow this care and cleaning may result in injury. Clean the surface of your Signature JSG Oceana Designs glass piece with a dry or damp cloth. If the surface of Signature JSG Oceana Designs glass piece becomes excessively dirty, you can use a mild soap and warm water.

Quality and Durability

All JSG Oceana glass home decor items are made of JSG Oceana “Hard Roc” glass, a unique formulation of borosilicate glass created by Jeannette Specialty Glass. Borosilicate glass is the oldest glass to show high resistance to sudden temperature changes. In fact, borosilicate is the glass of choice for refrigerator to oven cookware. JSG Oceana sinks and tile can withstand repeated temperature changes between 0° and 212° F without damage. Unlike soft soda lime, Borosilicate is highly resistant to chemical corrosives and can be cleaned with any commonly used household or commercial strength product. JSG Oceana glass therefore will NOT become cloudy or rust marked over time. Borosilicate glass is both stain and stretch resistant.
